When Parksite became employee-owned, there were just 22 employees who bought 75% of the company. It was a scary moment for them, as they put their trust in one another to grow the company and our employee stock ownership plan, or ESOP. Today we have nearly 700 employee-owners who benefit from the vision of those Parksite pioneers. One of those pioneers is George Pattee, Parksite Chairman of the Board who has worked here for 51 years. As Employee Ownership Month comes to an end, we conclude our 4-part series on ESOPs with stories of what it took for the company to become successful.
