Welcome Parksite at IBS (The NAHB International Builders’ Show). In this mini-series of eight episodes, we bring our employee owners to IBS to experience the energy, excitement and relevance of what we do everyday. This series is meant to explain the what and why of IBS - (1) what the show provides from the latest in products, innovations, design trends and education and (2) why we invest time and money and why a builder attends. We will get the inside story from our associates, suppliers, advisors, educators, and key clients. Some additional background on IBS: - The NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) is organized, produced, and managed exclusively by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). - NAHB is a Washington, DC-based trade association whose mission is to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry. Founded in 1942, NAHB serves the needs of more than 140,000 members, who include home builders, re-modelers and suppliers of building materials, as well as professionals in new home financing, sales and marketing, and building products and services. - Parksite has been involved with NAHB since the late 70s early 80’s when Tyvek was just coming to market. - IBS is organized by NAHB and is the largest light construction building industry trade show in the United States. It is the only event of its kind, focusing specifically on the needs, concerns, and opportunities that face home builders. As such, the show has alternated its location since 2003 between the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (two of the United States' largest convention centers). - Since 2014, the International Builders' Show has been co-located with the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), with the combined shows branded as Design & Construction Week. In 2023, the National Hardware Show will be co-dated with Design & Construction Week in Las Vegas. - With Anticipated 85,000-plus attendees expected to visit the more than 1,300 exhibitors in 2023, it’s the largest annual gathering of the residential design and construction industry in the world. - The annual IBS offers attendees more than 100 education sessions during the three-day event. Programs cover topics on housing industry concerns including economic trends, business opportunities and new markets, technology, high performance building, sales and marketing, construction methods, business management, legal issues, government regulation, architecture, design, community planning and more. - IBS is a ‘space’ for anyone in the home building industry.
